Harness over collar: why it matters here

This is made for small dogs and cats — and in both, the windpipe is fragile. A collar concentrates every pull on the throat, and a single hard jerk can cause injury.

A harness spreads the load across the chest, a structure built to take it. For a Chihuahua, Yorkie, Pug or cat, that isn't optional.

Introducing it to a cat

Never take a cat outside the first day they wear a harness. Let them wear it a few minutes a day indoors, with treats, for one to two weeks. A cat that panics outdoors in a harness they never accepted will not try again.
